FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Wedding photography

  1. What is Documentary Style Wedding Photography? This style focusses on capturing all the little and big moments that occur throughout the wedding day, in an authentic and honest approach. There is very little direction so that couples can enjoy their day without interference.

  2. Do you also photograph couples and family portraits at the wedding? Yes. Although my primary focus is documenting your wedding day, I can also include formal portraits for the family and more creative portraits for the couple.

  3. How long does it take for the couple and family portraits? The time depends on the number of photos you would like taken. Typically, the family portraits are about 20 to30 minutes and the couple portraits really vary depending on the number of photos requested and the number of locations - this can be 15 to 45 minutes.

  4. Are you familiar with using off-camera flash for darker venues? Yes. I often use off-camera flash (artificial light) if there is limited available light.

  5. Are you insured? Yes.

  6. How soon can we receive our photographs? Within 8 weeks of the wedding date.

  7. Do you require a retainer/deposit? Yes. After signing the wedding contract, a non-refundable 20% retainer is required to hold the wedding date. This is standard practise for wedding photographers.

  8. Do you offer a payment plan? I do accept fee instalments by e-transfer. After every payment, I will send an invoice with the balance. All fees are due on or before the wedding date.

  9. What happens if we have to reschedule our wedding date due to government restrictions? Every effort will be made to accommodate for the rescheduled wedding date, at no extra charge or fee increase. If I’m personally unable to accommodate for the new date, I do have skilled associates will a similar style who can meet with you as a possible replacement.

wedding film

  1. What is a Highlight Film? This is a creative, 4 to 5 minute video montage highlighting all the important moments from your wedding day. The film may include audio of the vows and/or speeches and will be set to music.

  2. How many hours are covered in your Wedding Film packages? For the Highlight Film package, I cover the full day, from getting ready to the first dances. For the Micro/Elopement package, I cover the getting ready portion of your day (if requested), the ceremony and the events scheduled directly after the ceremony (e.g., portraits, toasts, etc.) Typically, the time required is approximately 3-4 hours.

  3. Do I receive a video filming of the ceremony? Yes. Both packages (Highlight Film and Micro/Elopement) include a separate video film of the ceremony.

  4. Do I need a second videographer? A second videographer will give you more coverage, allowing for different angles, especially for the ceremony. A second videographer is recommended, but not required.

  5. Will every moment filmed be included in the Highlight or Micro/Elopement video? During the consultation, we will talk about which moments are the most important to you and your fiancé so that I can determine how to craft the film in a way that best reflects your wedding story. From a creative point of view, not all moments filmed will be included, with the exception of the ceremony.

  6. What if I wish to have a specific moment to be edited from the film? With your film package, I include one free edit, just in case there is a moment that you would like excluded. This request can be made within 30 days of receiving your film.

  7. Can we have our favourite song featured in the film? Due to strict copyright laws, popular songs, even when recorded during the wedding are not permitted in the film. I do have access to thousands of royalty-free songs that I use for my films. If you have a specific genre you would like used, I can incorporate that into the film.
